Tuckahoe Update 11-14-2017

Tuckahoe Square Dancers,

It was a pleasure to have SusanElaine Packer from Florida come to call for us last Friday. If you have been to any Square Dance State Conventions along the East Coast, you probably have met SusanElaine. She runs “Suzie Q Creations” selling badges and dangles. She is a wonderful caller and kept everyone having fun. Rich sported around a nice red kiss on his forehead for his birthday!!! She called to new songs for us. I especially loved the “Florida Song” that was cute and good to dance to. We look forward to having her back in 2018. Joy was our line dance leader and did a great job for the line dancers. Chris and Betty provided the tasty, good refreshments for the evening.  Thanks to SusanElaine, Joy, Betty and Chris for a fun square dance evening.

We also celebrated “Veterans Day” and recognized all the square dancers who served our country. We have quite a few in our club. All “Veterans” came forward and told what branch, when and where served. For those who were at our dance and for those who were not able to be there, we recognize and honor all who served our country and those serving now for their service, sacrifices, bravery, hard work, and dedication. We thank them and pray for them who served and serving now at home and overseas.

This Friday our guest caller will be Gene Chamberlain and we look forward to Gene calling for us. It is always great when Gene calls since he has taught most of us. We are so lucky to have him!!

Tuckahoe Update 11-7-2017

Hi Tuckahoe Square Dancers,

Larry Winegard was awesome calling for us last Friday night. We always have a fun evening when Larry is here. He calls to good music and keeps us moving!! He and Joy did a great job alternating the line dances adding more fun to the dance night. With the elections this week, Maggie and Davia had a “Let’s Vote” theme with a Chocolate Party (mostly voted by ladies!) and Pizza Party (mostly voted by guys) running neck-and-neck for being the winner!!  We can definitely see who likes what kind of party!! It was a fun theme with red, white, and blue décor and the yummy refreshments mostly made by Maggie and Davia. Thanks again to Larry, Joy, Maggie and Davia for a fun dancing night.

This Friday our guest caller will be Susan Elaine Packer from Florida. We welcome Susan and look forward to her calling for us this Friday night.
CORRECTION: Last week’s updates email stated “Early Rounds at 7:30pm” which was incorrect. There is no early rounds this Friday night.
Sorry for any confusion.

Also this Friday we will be celebrating Veterans Day and recognizing all the Veterans who served our country.
