Tuckahoe Update 6-6-2018

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are enjoying the beautiful cooler weather we’ve been having for the past few days. As the week heats up, so will the dancing!

This Friday night, June 8th we have Virgil Forbes calling. All Saints Episcopal 8pm. Jim Kiser has refreshments.

On Saturday, Mike Sikorsky will be calling at Holladay Elementary School. (For those of you who may not have danced to Mike before, Mike is a fantastic caller and well worth coning out for!) Butch Bloxom will be calling early rounds at 7:30pm.This the RSARDA MEN’s BAKE OFF – Gentlemen, start your ovens! Prize categories are as follows: Best Overall, Best Chocolate, Best Presentation, Most Imaginative, and Healthiest. For everyone else, please bring a refreshment to supplement what the men bake.

On SundayMike will be calling A2 from 1:30 to 3:30 and Plus DBD from 3:30 to 5:30 at the Belmont Recreation Center.

Thank you to all who made our picnic a success! Lots of food, fun, friends, and dance! Gene Chamberlain called and a wonderful time was had!

Next Friday night, June 15th is Hawaiian Night, so put on your Aloha shirts and grass skirts and come out to dance to Nelson Wakeman! 8pm All Saints Episcopal; The Bigdely’s have refreshments.

June 22 Dave Terrell is calling for Pink Flamingo night. 8pm All Saints. Lis Turner and Allen Earehart have refreshments.

Congratulations to Helen Berry! Helen received the Monticello Award at the State Square Dance Convention. The Monticello Award is given by the Virginia Square Dance Callers Association to one square dancer each year who has shown excellence in leadership, dedication over a significant period of time, and has made outstanding contributions in promotion square dancing. If you see Helen, Congratulate her! She’s earned it!
