Tuckahoe Update 09-21-2017

Hi Tuckahoe Square Dancers!!

A huge “THANK YOU’” to our fishermen and chefs, Dean and Rob!!! What a great job fishing at their favorite pond, ‘prep’ the fish, then baking and frying the fish, hushpuppies, and onion rings!! They had their “kitchen” all set up outback on the patio looking good and having fun. We could not ask for more. Thanks to all the dancers for bringing the delicious side dishes and desserts. Our Fish Fry was a big success eating and socializing. Fun, Fun, Fun. Thanks Dean and Rob, the best chef-duo ever!!

Our guest caller, Vance McDaniel, topped off the evening with good music for our square dancing pleasure. He even taught us a new call that everyone enjoyed. Joy was our Line Dance leader and again did a super job. Thanks Vance and Joy for making an enjoyable evening of dancing.

Hey Mates, September 22nd will be our “Talk Like a Pirate” dance with the guest caller, Ken Ritucci. This will be another fun square dancing evening. Be sure to wear your pirate outfit and we all can talk like a pirate!

September 29th, we will be back at All Saints Episcopal Church for our Friday night dance. Jeremy Butler will be our guest caller.

October 6th , Our guest caller will be Doren McBroom at All Saints Episcopal Church.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:  For our Halloween Ball dance at Holladay School on Saturday, October 28th, we need volunteers to help set up/break down. See Scout if you can help. All members to bring refreshments for that evening.

RSARDA Update:  September 23rd – Afternoon DBD 1:30-3:30pm with Ken Ritucci at Holladay Elem. School.

DON’T FORGET:   The VIRGINIA STATE FAIR will be starting September 29th through October 8th and there will be squaring dancing demos with audience participation. The State Fair will be held at the Meadow Event Park in Doswell. Entry tickets and parking passes will be available for volunteer dancers. Contact Connie Cox at 434-298-1206 or by email cc_rca@yahoo.com if you can participate and when you are available to dance. Connie still needs square dancers for each day to complete a square. It will be a great time to demonstrate square dancing to the public.

Let’s “Load the Boat” with everyone square dancing and enjoying the fun.
