Hi Tuckahoe Square Dancers!! I’m back from an “Awesome” vacation in Alaska! And now I am back to reality!! I’m glad to be home.
I heard that on August 25th everyone had a fun evening with Larry Winegard from the Shenandoah Valley area calling. Larry always brings us great music, a variety of calls and some line dancing too. When Larry is calling, you always have to listen and think. I heard his call “join hands” stumped a few when they automatically started circling…Larry was wondering “where are you going”!!! No doubt, we always have a fun time when Larry is here. The delicious refreshments of ham sandwiches, cookies, peanut cake and other snacks were provided by Susan and Mac. Thanks Larry, Susan and Mac for a fun square dancing evening.
On September 1st, our own Gene Chamberlain was our guest caller and I heard he called a great dance for our “Blast from the Past” theme dance. We always love having Gene calling for us making it a fun evening. I heard your photos from your past was a lot of fun and everyone enjoyed trying to guess “who’s who”! I also heard there were several pictures that almost stumped a few like the two boys (Paul and his brother). We plan to have this theme again next year and have lots more pictures. Scout provided the yummy cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries, and other snacks for the evening. Thanks Gene and Scout for providing a fun square dancing night.
PLEASE ATTEND: September 8th will be the Fall Quarterly Meeting starting at 6:45pm. Members with last names starting with “L thru O” will bring the refreshments for the dance. Chris Stacy will be our guest caller for the evening.
September 15th we will have our annual “Fish Fry” at All Saints Episcopal Church. All members are asked to bring a side dish or dessert. Vance McDaniel will be our guest caller.
PLEASE NOTE: CHANGE OF VENUE FOR OUR SEPTEMBER 22ND DANCE WILL NOW BE AT RIVER ROAD CHURCH, BAPTIST.

DON’T FORGET: The VIRGINIA STATE FAIR will be starting September 29th through October 8th and there will be squaring dancing demos with audience participation. The State Fair will be held at the Meadow Event Park in Doswell. Entry tickets and parking passes will be available for volunteer dancers. Contact Connie Cox at 434-298-1206 or by email firstname.lastname@example.org if you can participate and when you are available to dance. It will be a great time to demonstrate square dancing to the public.
We want to say a big “THANK YOU” to Lis and Allen for being so faithful in helping with the set up and break down for our Friday night dances. And Thanks to all the other square dancers who help on dance night.
Let’s “Load the Boat” with everyone square dancing and enjoying the fun.
